By Samantha Anne Carrillo, UpLift Chronicles Managing Editor

Our regular readers may have noticed that last month’s expanded, 12-page issue of UpLift Chronicles focused on education and workforce development. For our September issue, UpLift Chronicles shifts our focus to violence prevention and intervention.

Amplifying Voices, Perspectives

UpLift Chronicles’ mission is sharing essential information and perspectives, amplifying Black and multicultural voices and narratives, and empowering connection and engagement among BIPOC affinity groups, here in the International District and throughout the state of New Mexico.

Guided by Impact and Community

While our coverage is still informed by our parent org New Mexico Black Leadership Council’s areas of impact—cultural vibrancy; advocacy and civic engagement; physical, mental, and financial health and wellness; workforce and leadership development; and positive youth development—we’re also taking our cues from conversations about what’s actually going on in our communities.
